Balance makes it possible to stand, walk and move without falling. It’s essential for movement, for fitness, and of course to keep yourself from falling down.
Tania Obljubek, a physiotherapist at Women’s College Hospital states: “Balance depends on the complex interplay of vision, the vestibular system – that’s your inner ear – and the joints, muscles and ligaments that make up the movement system. Those three elements work together to always let us know where we are in space.”
