It can be remembered that last January, there have been rumors about the famous French fashion house Louis Vuitton buying the popular street wear company Supreme for a total of $500 million dollars. And since then, people everywhere have stay tuned for the seemingly inevitable and highly anticipated collaboration between the two brands. Thankfully, LV did not disappoint because recent reports showed that a pop up shop featuring the combined work and efforts of the two companies will be launched in NYC as early as next month.
After collaborating with other fashion brands such as Jake & Dinos Chapman and Fragment for their previous collections, Louis Vuitton is ready to take on the Supreme and give the usual streetwear attire a high fashion twist. Late last March, it can be recalled that a twitter account with the handle of @TheSupremeSaint gave a glimpse of what he said are the things that will be shown in the highly anticipated LV X Supreme pop up shop. He also mentioned that the first shop will be launched in NYC, while two others will be placed in LA and Miami. The twitter account’s owner also revealed that starting July 14 of this year, all U.S. based Louis Vuitton stores will also start selling LV X Supreme products.
The dates of the launch were confirmed when an Elle contributing editor, Faran Krentcil, noticed a sign posted by NYC’s local community board regarding a product launch event by Louis Vuitton and Supreme at 25th bond St. between June 29 and July 2, 2017. The notice is posted to inform the public of an open meeting that will discuss the street activities that might take place during the product launch event. An alleged price list of the products has also been leaked, adding more hype to the much awaited fashion happening.
